Nursery completed!

Well, I'm happy to report that the nursery is completely done and now the 10 week waiting game begins for our little girl to arrive.
This room has been a so special to create and a true labour of love. What was once my home office, where I would spend many early mornings & late nights on emails & reports, will soon be replaced with rocking, feeding & lots of cuddles. The room turned out exactly how I wanted it to...creamy, dreamy & girly with a little leopard print sprinkled on top!

Many of the accessories I purchased off of Etsy - love love love that website! I'm contemplating starting my own shop on there to have an income while I'm home. Here's where I purchased:
  • Chloe leopard blocks
  • Vinyl growth chart
  • Wooden letter C above crib & wooden dress hanger (spray painted it silver)
  • Chandelier: Ikea
  • Clock: Jysk (I spraypainted it silver)
  • Artwork: Etsy
  • Crib & Changetable: given to us by fabulous friends! We painted them to match the wall color & added crystal knobs from Home Depot to fancy them up
  • Netting above crib: Ikea
  • Chair: recovered my grandfather's chair in a white leather-like vinyl

**Update: I'm thrilled to have our nursery featured on Spearmint Baby

Nursery - 90% complete!

I am so pleased with how the nursery turned out after a full weekend of work! Thanks to Jim & Tammy and all of their help, we were able to lay hardwood down, paint the walls, do crown moulding, hang a few lights & do alot of other clearing in the house. Almost every nook & cranny is now organized and I will be sleeping like the baby inside me tonight!!
It's all so real now - to walk past the room and know that in about 3 months our little girl will be sleeping in there! There's a few things left to do like hang the sheer curtains, hang some stainless steel pics on the wall, and I've just purchased this 20" letter "C" which will go on the wall near the crib.
We booked a 3D Ultrasound for March 14th so we're very excited for that - it will also give 100% confirmation that we're having a girl....it would be hard to switch gears at this point!
Feeling great the last few weeks so I'm hoping this lasts!

What - you're having 2 kids????

17 weeks....
So the last few weekends my little brother, Jeffrey, has been sleeping over. Chris has just so happened to work the last few, so Jeffrey likes to come over & be the man of the house when Chris is gone!
Last night we were looking at a baby name book and he yet again shared that he really really hopes I'm having a boy. I told him that I feel like I'm having a boy but we'll soon find out. Then I said, besides~if it's not a boy this time...then maybe it will be the next time cause we're planning on having 2 kids. He has the goofiest look on his face and says, "What - you didn't tell me you were having 2 kids. I need to know this cause I'm going to be the one babysitting them!"
It was classic Jeppy. He has always been the super planner - like, we have to rehearse what every minute of the day is going to look like, so I wasn't the least bit surprised by this!

I'm feeling pretty good - I can actually feel my stomach growing...it feels tight & itchy all the time so I keep trying to remember to drink lots of water & moisturize.

I'll leave you with a few more nursery pics I found this week during my hours of inspired but wasteful web surfing....A

First Post!

Welcome to my blog!

I've started this site to journal all the "stuff" that happens as Chris and I begin this new journey. I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant and although it's been a bit of a sickly few weeks - I think I'm finally starting to feel better.

I've been in such a nesting mood lately...organizing every nook and cranny in the house. I've started browsing around for pics of nursery ideas...haven't been finding too much. I really like the pic above but realize this is very unrealistic. Love the all white room though!

I told work this week about the news so we are now happily spreading it around.
Talk soon!
