Gorgeously Green Spray

As most of you moms can relate, since having Chloe, I look at everything through a different lens and try to be as informed as possible when it comes to her health & safety. I've started buying more organic food and supplement my already pretty healthy diet with vitamins to make sure my milk is top notch. An obvious next step was to get rid of toxic cleaning chemicals in our home. I made up 2 different concoctions that I found online and they work fabulously! Now go get out your lab coat and give these a try:

Georgeous Green All-Purpose Spray:
Fill 32oz spray bottle with water first then add all the rest. Make sure to use 100% essential oils.
  • 2c Water
  • 1/2c distilled white vinegar
  • 1tsp peppermint castile soap
  • 3/4c hydrogen peroxide
  • 20 drops tea tree oil
  • 20 drops lavendar or lemongrass
Fruit & Veggie Wash:
Mix all ingredients into spray bottle. Spray produce and let sit for 5-10 minutes before rinsing.
  • 1c Water
  • 1c distilled white vinegar
  • 1tbsp baking soda
  • 20 drops grapefruit seed extract
I've also recently fell in love with baking soda and can't believe what a powerhouse powder this is! Check out all the uses!

Oh like the fruit and veggie wash! I always wash my F&V, but only with water...that is the next step I need to take. I am now eating organic fruits and vegetables mainly (with the exception of fruits that have a thick peel) and will only eat meat that is traditionally raised or 100% organic. I feel so much better not allowing pesticides, steroids, antibiotics not to enter my system. I can only imagine how important that is for you with Chloe! Btw, she is one of the cutest babies ever!

Ange - where did you get all your ingredients - like the castile soap? I totally planned to make my own cleaners when I was preggers. Then, when Jane arrived, I copped out an just bought the greenworks stuff which I'm sure is 99% natural, 1% chemical hell.

Let me know :)

I always use water for my fruits and veggies because I never knew what else to use and never wanted to use chemicals. This was a great post! I'm going to try this tomorrow!!

Thanks for sharing! I too love to look for alternatives. And as much as I love to clean (really I do) then I always have a need. :)

Ohhhhh, this is awesome. My little man has eczema. And a lot of cleaners irritate his skin!
